New Art for the Environment Giving Back Program
Jan 3, 2008 --
2007 has brought about many positive changes at DSA Fine Arts, especially the advent of our new virtual exhibition space, The Still Point Gallery. Since this time of year is about giving, I thought it was an appropriate time to announce our new giving back program, Art for the Environment.
The Still Point Gallery features works by contemporary photographers who have a deep connection to the natural world. Through our new virtual exhibition space, we will present a new monthly exhibit of contemplative photographs that I hope help foster a deeper connection to and appreciation for the beauty and diversity of the natural world.
Art for the Environment will give back a portion of the proceeds of all sales of these photographs to benefit non-profit environmental groups who are working for positive and immediate change.
Our first beneficiary is Environmental Defense, an organization who partners with business, governments and communities to find practical environmental solutions. You will also find links on our website to other groups and innovative projects that are making a difference and learn about ways you can be part of the change.
Though I grew up in New York City, I’ve always felt most at home when I am in nature. Caring for and protecting the environment has been a long-time passion for me and I am pleased to do my own small bit to help raise environmental awareness and money for this most important cause.
I wish you all a Happy New Year.
